Steve Ballmer is Microsofts CEO. He is well known for his feisty character and at the times over the top but unmistakably passionate atitude to his company. Ballmer was also famously convinced to quit Harvard by Bill Gates to help him set up Microsoft a move that clearly paid of.

Ballmer has a pretty good sense of humor and when a student at Nazarene University, Nashville TN, who was either slightly crazy or extremely courageous either way seems to of made quite a bit of a name for him self. He approached Ballmer with his MacBook Pro and and asked him to sign it. Ballmer in good jest not only signed but signed it on the Apple logo. Watch the video for your self and enjoy.

For those of you that dont know, this is Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple and Genuine Genius. This guy invented the Apple II. This machine pretty much made apple possible, he started of by building these machines in a garage! Thats where Apple began. Amazing what dreams can achieve.

You will find people often refer to him as Woz, you will even find Woz and his lovely wife commenting on Engadget forums etc. If there is ever any one that lives in a humble way is Woz. I could actually sit and listen to that guy for hours! If you want to know more about him, read his book iWoz. Absolutely superb or look up more videos of him on Youtube. Enjoy.

Every so often you come across some music that has it just right!  The music is brilliant, just the build up and support from the instrumentals, the lyrics are simple, the voice is unique and just makes you feel something inside. Makes you smile. Music that can really evoke some emotion. If you have not seen this video or heard this song then this is your day! So listen to it and share it.

For those of you that have been in some deep space mission here is one for you to look out for. Arriving some time this year, computer gaming is about to take a new form! Controller? What are those. Imagine talking to a computer and it actually could hear what you said, your emotions and then your body positioning, where it is, what its doing! Using materials in the real world and getting them scanned in to a “virtual world”, sounds like something out of tron I know. Would you like to see how that looks? Well if you have not already then this is a really exciting new bit of tech. Feel free to check out youtube for more videos as there is so much out there, maybe even meet Milo.

Enjoy!

Inventing Tomorrow.

YOU HAVE GOT TO WATCH THIS VIDEO. WELCOME THE REVOLUTION.

Lets invent tomorrow. This is what will be the new standard of communication. This is what tomorrow will bring. Twitter-esque communication is the way we will all be texting. And the internet will grow in a huge way to become the new standard of communication.

Its 2010, think about how much has changed,  think about the mobile phone you had in 2000, think about standards now, like the iphone.

Nobody likes change this is true. But change is inevitable. As you read this you have to stop and think about how will you adopt. Will you adopt or fight against it? I like to see the new trends and embrace them. Just look at Facebook and how many people have had to go on in order to keep in touch. Mobile phone have had to raise there standards as phone like the iPhone come out and raise the bar with just 2 handsets.

Inventing tomorrow, that is what its all about.

Half full or half empty.

How many times have you woke up and thought, I really don’t have the energy or motivation to get up, how many times have you felt like there is no point on working so hard as when you do, you don’t get the outcome you may deserve? How many times have you stopped and thought, do you really make a difference? How many times have you stopped and thought, are you were you wanted to be? To add to this, why do people seem to find these best times to hurt you?  These will be the real moments in your life.

The moments where you just feel like you just can’t get up. I will let you in to a secret, the fact you have acknowledge that you feel like that and that you want some change means your already half way up. Acknowledgment means you have identified the problem, which means you have also identified the solution. I recently came across an experience where I felt like I could not get up, I knew what the problem was but the solution at the time was not the right one. I had to get myself up. How did I do this? How can any one do this? Simple really, it’s just a matter of balance. Every bad thing that brings you down, think about a good balance. This can often be the opposite. You may have had your heart broken and feel really down, so what you do is this think about your great qualities, friends are great support for this, think about the reasons and ways in which you can make people happy, dig deep and find that confidence in your self, because once you do this you will see that its all so much better then you realise.

As cliche as it may sound each experience you take will make you stronger, each bad experience prepares you more in life. It doesn’t matter your nationality, background, life experience, race, gender or age, there is one thing we can all aim to achieve, something that can only come with time, that is wisdom. So think about your current situation, are you down and lost or up and found? If your lost, you just need the right direction to be found, and if you are found, embrace and remember how you feeling now for the next time something knocks you down as this will be the biggest motivator.

Perseverance is key, belief is essential and faith in yourself is crucial.

20 Something

If you are over the age of twenty please look away as this may not sit well with you. I have recently come to realise that your twenties are probably the best time of your life. Now, by no means am I saying that your life gets rubbish or boring after your twenties, on the contrary it can be a great and enriching time. But when you really think about it, being twenty means youth, inexperience and freedom because you are an open and unwritten book. When you are in your twenties you see life in such a different way. You yearn for that new experience, you learn so much every day. You feel invincible, like you can do anything and you are aware that life is full of opportunities. You can go out and party till late and still get up early the following day for work or university.

During your twenties, there are so many things that you can do that you could never do before, in fact I have seen so many applications for different things for ages 18-27. Even celebrities truly begin there lives in there twenties, then in there thirties they get replaced by some new hot shot twenty-something year old actor. This is because at twenty, you look young, you look good and at the peak of your life. At twenty-something life tends to be about you and what you want to do.

Your twenties are also a big time to set the trend for the rest of your life, the mentality you are setting up during this age sees you till the end of your life and very few can change their mental attitudes after this point. Of course there are always many exceptions, I know twenty year olds that seem to have skipped that decade out of there life and thirty-somethings that live a twenty year old’s life. But at the end it is about what makes us as individuals happy.

As I write this I am sitting in a Starbucks on the corner of Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus in London. I’m looking out of the window and I see people of all ages walking by. I can’t help but wonder at what stage in there lives these people are because they’re ranging from 8 to 80 years old so imagine if you could see life through their eyes for a day? At twenty-one I have the freedom to travel up and down the country as I please, to experience so many new things, to do almost anything. But will I still have such freedom and openness at thirty-one?
